"Sunday is a game that we added to the schedule in order to not have back-to-back bye weekends," Lie said. "Friends is a team that will present some challenges for us, but it's really about how we handle ourselves on Sunday. We have felt like we're close in a lot of areas, but haven't quite put it all together yet. Our hope is to be able to do that this weekend."

Kansas (2-2-3, 0-1-0 Big 12) is coming off a tough loss in the Big 12 Conference opener to Iowa State on Thursday night by a score of 1-0. The Cyclones scored a goal in the 85th minute of the match. Despite the loss, Kansas held an 8-4 edge on shots and a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Sophie Dawe was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week on Sept. 11. Dawe was credited with her second career shutout on Sept. 5 at Vanderbilt. This season, Dawe has posted a 0.86 goals against average and played every minute in goal for Kansas. Her goals against average ranks sixth in the Big 12.

The Jayhawks have outshot their opponents 106-43 this season and in each of the last six matches. Defensively, KU has limited its competition to 40 fewer total shots over the first seven games of the season. At this point last season, Kansas opponents had a total of 83 shots compared to the 43 shots they have this season.

Entering the final non-conference match, KU has already clinched its 16th straight season (beginning in 2008) with a .500 winning percentage or better against regular-season non-conference opponents.

ABOUT FRIENDS
Friends (3-1-0) is fresh off a 4-0 shutout victory at Baker University on Wednesday night. The Falcons are led offensively by Keily Larosee who had her second career hat trick against Baker. Larosee has five goals this season and holds the Friends program record with 47 career goals. Morgan Wilkinson and Nia Baker have each split time in goal this season for the Falcons.

Sunday will be Junior Jayhawks Day at Rock Chalk Park. There will be a face painter and all fans are welcome to enjoy inflatables and yard games at the Fun Zone on the concourse. Fans arriving early will receive a Kansas Soccer keychain upon entry, while supplies last.
