NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Kansas Jayhawks are headed to Music City to play the Vanderbilt Commodores on Thursday night at Vanderbilt Soccer Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
Â
"We're looking to get back on track Thursday night against a talented Vanderbilt team," head coach Nate Lie said. "The last few matches we have felt like we're in control, but at the end of the game when you look up at the scoreboard it's not the result we want to see. We have to be very intentional when we get chances on Thursday and do our best to limit Vanderbilt's opportunities."
Â
Kansas (2-1-2) is coming off a pair of matches at Rock Chalk Park last week against South Florida and Gonzaga. The Jayhawks played to a 1-1 draw against USF before suffering their first defeat of the season to Gonzaga on Sunday.
Â
The Jayhawks have been well-tested through the non-conference portion of the schedule as the Jayhawks have already played three NCAA Tournament teams this season. Despite the increased level of competition, Kansas has held its opponents to 29 fewer total shots through the first five matches this season compared to 2023.
Â
Freshman
Jillian Gregorski leads the team with two goals and five points this season. Redshirt sophomore
Saige Wimes has four points this season, which is the second most on the team and junior
Lexi Watts has a team-high 24 shots. The Jayhawks are averaging 17.0 shots per game.
