LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women's tennis got back on track with a 4-3 win over Arkansas inside the Jayhawk Tennis Center on Sunday.

Todd Chapman said. "I was really proud of the resiliency that we showed to get our confidence back and then win a big match like that against Arkansas who's got a really quality team, so I couldn't be more proud of the girls."
Kansas battled in doubles action, but ultimately dropped the doubles point as Arkansas took two out of three matches. Kansas' Gracie Mulville and Heike Janse Van Vuuren, ranked No. 52, fell to Arkansas' Anet Koskel and Grace O'Donnell, ranked No. 66, 6-7 (4). In No. 2 doubles, Kansas' pair of Kyoka Kubo and Jasmine Adams lost to Carolina Gomez Alonso and Olga Bienzobas, 5-7, granting Arkansas the doubles point. The Jayhawks' Yerkezhan Arystanbekova and Anna Putilina battled against the Razorbacks' Jimena Gomez Alonso and Katarina Pavlechova in a tight 5-5 match before the match went unfinished.
The Jayhawks secured their first point of the day with Kubo defeating Koskel 6-3, 6-2, in No. 3 singles. On court 1, Mulville defeated No. 57 Carolina Gomez Alonso 6-3, 7-5 to give the Jayhawks their second point of the day. With the wins, Kubo and Mulville both moved to 5-1 on the season.Â
In No. 6 singles, Putilina moved to 4-0 on the season with her 6-4, 6-1 win over Jimena Gomez Alonso. The Jayhawks secured the win over Arkansas with Meriem Ben Ezzedine's 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 win over Pavlechova on court 5.Â
Maria Titova faced off against Bienzobas on court 2 and lost in a tight 7-5, 2-6, 6-7 (5) defeat. On court 4, Adams was defeated by O'Donnell 6-4, 3-6, 4-6.Â

The Jayhawks will go on the road for the first time this season as they travel to face off against Old Dominion on Feb. 14 and Clemson on Feb. 16.
