HOCKLEY, Texas – The Kansas women's golf team finished in 10th place at the 2025 Big 12 Women's Golf Championship at Houston Oaks Country Club Thursday afternoon, shooting team scores of 299-298-303-900 (+48) against a loaded 14-team field.Â
"It was extremely close between eighth and 12th place. We played tough and I think the girls hung in there," said Kansas head coach Lindsay Kuhle. "We didn't give up and we played hard. This is a championship course under tough conditions. This is perfect timing for us to go through this, so we are prepared for NCAA Regionals."Â
Arizona, Arizona State and Oklahoma State each finished at +19, forcing a sudden-death playoff that Arizona won to claim the Big 12 Championship.
Sophomore Lyla Louderbaugh led the Jayhawks in scoring this week, shooting rounds of 74-75-74 to finish in a tie for 25th place at +10.Â
"I thought Lyla was really strong throughout the whole week," said Kuhle. "She has really come on late this season which I am really happy about."Â
Senior Lauren Clark carded rounds of 75-72-77 to finish tied for 31st at 11-over par. Her final-round 77 included a birdie on the par-4 17th.Â
Junior Amy DeKock carded two birdies in her final round to post a 4-over 75. She finished tied for 37th at 12-over par with rounds of 77-73-75.Â
Freshman Ebba Nordstedt made her postseason debut at the conference championship, finishing tied for 54th at 18-over par with rounds of 73-78-80.Â
Senior Lily Hirst wrapped up the event tied for 61st, shooting rounds of 79-79-77 to finish at 22-over par.Â
"We've got a lot to work on and I think this is a great learning experience for our ladies," Kuhle added. "Looking forward to seeing the ladies put in the work and prepare for the next event and we'll take it from there."Â
