PEORIA, Ariz. – The Kansas women's golf team is set to compete in the Westbrook Invitational at the Westbrook Village Golf Club from Feb. 22-23. Kansas has won the event in the previous two seasons and look to defend their title in Peoria, Ariz. The Jayhawks are coming off a ninth place finish at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge.
"We are super excited to come back to Westbrook. We love this course, love the hospitality and love the weather." Head coach Lindsay Kuhle said. "We've had really great success here in the last three years, so we're very excited to come back."
Kansas will compete in a 15-team field that includes Arizona, Chattanooga, Colorado State, Georgia, Gonzaga, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Penn State, Rutgers, UNLV, Washington State, and host school Wisconsin.
The Jayhawks will tee off at 9:30 a.m. CT on Sunday, Feb. 22. The tournament will be 54-holes over two days, 36-holes on Sunday and 18-holes on Monday. Both days will begin with a shotgun start.
Coach Kuhle will travel with a lineup of seniors Amy DeKock, Anna Wallin, junior Lyla Louderbaugh, sophomore Ebba Nordstedt, freshmen Kinslea Jones and Marieke Ebens. Ebens will compete as an individual.
Louderbaugh leads the way for the Jayhawks carrying a 72.9 stroke average over 16 rounds. Louderbaugh has recorded two finishes inside the top-five, and five top-20 finishes this season.
