
Kansas to Compete in Yale West Invitational

LA QUINTA, Calif. – The Kansas women's golf team is set to travel to La Quinta, California to compete in the Yale Invitational West at the PGA West Golf Course March 9-10.Â
The Jayhawks are coming off a fifth-place finish at the Westbrook Invitational where they were led by junior golfer Lyla Louderbaugh, who set a new career low 54-hole score of 203 (-13)Â
Kansas will compete in a 10-team field that includes Virginia Tech, Gonzaga, Colorado State, California State Fullerton, San Diego State, Pepperdine, Princeton, Kansas State, and host school Yale.Â
"We are looking forward to being back here in the desert. We played in this event last year and had a great finish," Kansas coach Linsday Kuhle said. "It should be a fun couple of days, so we're looking forward to it."
Kansas will travel with a lineup of seniors Amy DeKock, Anna Wallin, junior Lyla Louderbaugh, sophomore Ebba Nordstedt, and freshmen Kinslea Jones and Marieke Ebens. Ebens will compete as an individual.Â
Kansas competed in this event last season and came away with a second-place finish. Three Jayhawks traveling this year competed in the event last season. DeKock recorded a top 10 finish, Nordstedt finished inside the top 20, and Louderbaugh competed as an individual last year and tied for 24th place.Â
Kansas is set to tee off in a shotgun-format at 10:15 a.m. CT on Monday, and will play 36 holes on Monday, followed by 18 holes to finish the tournament on Tuesday Mar. 10th.Â
