LAWRENCE, KAN. – Kansas Track and Field wrapped up the final day of the Kansas Relays at Rock Chalk Park Saturday afternoon.
"Anytime we get to compete in our hometown, I'm really excited. There's areas where we can get better, but overall I thought it was a great meet," Kansas Head Coach
Stanley Redwine said.
Kansas took home 10 first-place finishes on the final day of the event, including three first place finishes from athletes in their Kansas Relays debut.
Ebba Cronholm, in her Kansas Relays debut, won the Women's 1500-meter event by running a time of 4:24.25 to take the crown in her first time running the event in her collegiate career.
Mia Murray was another freshman who took home a first-place finish, winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:06.40, which is good for a new personal record. The final freshman who took home a win for the Jayhawks was
Richelle Stanley, who won the Women's Long Jump, by leaping a new personal best of 6.11 meters.
The Jayhawks also had multiple upperclassmen collect some wins for the team, starting with junior Tanner Tally, who ran a personal record time of 3:41.03 to take the crown in the Men's 1500-meter event. Another Kansas junior,
Grant Lockwood, won the Men's 400-meter event with a mark of 46.70 seconds.
For the third consecutive meet, sophomore
Sidney Smith won the Women's 400-meter hurdles event, this time logging a time of 59.46 seconds.
Jeremiah Smith was yet another Jayhawk who took first place in the Men's 110 hurdles event, where he ran a time of 14.21 seconds to win the event in his Kansas Relays collegiate debut.
In the final event of the Kansas Relays, the Jayhawks took home one more title to end the event on a high note, as the Kansas B team won the Men's 4x400 event. The Kansas A squad went on to win the Men's 4x400 Invitational event to cap off the event for Kansas, cementing another successful Kansas Relays.

Kansas will host yet another meet, as the Jayhawks will compete in the Rock Chalk Classic, hosted at Rock Chalk Park. The event will take place next Saturday, Apr 26th.
