LAWRENCE, KAN. -Â Kansas Track and Field will begin the postseason this weekend by hosting the 2025 Big 12 Outdoor Championships at Rock Chalk Park.
59 Jayhawks will be competing in the event for Kansas, competing against the other members of the Big 12 conference.Â

Kansas has two athletes who sit atop the Big 12 heading into the start of competition Thursday. Junior
Ashton Barkdull leads the conference in the Men's Pole Vault, as his recent mark of 5.52m last weekend at the Ward Haylett Invitational gave him the number one ranking.Â
Senior
Dimitrios Pavlidis sits in first in the Men's Discus Throw heading into competition. Pavlidis threw a mark 209' 6'' at the Jayhawk Spring Fling on March 22nd. Pavlidis has maintained the number one ranking in the conference and will look to take home a conference championship.Â
Kansas has several athletes in the top four of their respective events in the conference, such as Sonya Sluchaninova who is in second in the Women's Discus Throw. Sluchaninova threw a distance of 60.21m at the Rock Chalk Classic in Lawrence.Â
The Jayhawk Women's Pole Vault team has three athletes in the top five of the Big 12 Performance List, including recent school record holder, sophomore
Mason Meinershagen. Meinershagen broke the outdoor school record in the Women's Pole Vault at the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Ariz. by clearing a mark of 4.51 meters.
Erica Ellis has also had recent standout performances jumping 4.49 meters at the Kansas Relays, and then following it up by topping that mark, jumping 4.50 at the Rock Chalk Classic.Â
