COLUMBIA, Mo. – Kansas baseball will play its final midweek game of the season at Missouri on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. CT at Taylor Stadium. The Jayhawks defeated the Tigers on April 29 by a score of 9-3 at Hoglund Ballpark.
Kansas (36-13) will be looking to set a program record for the most road wins in a season on Tuesday night. Currently, the Jayhawks have won 16 games on the road this year, which matches the program record set in 2003. Kansas is one of 13 Division I programs with at least 16 road wins. KU leads the Big 12 and is tied for eighth in the nation with 88 home runs this season. Kansas has three players with at least 10 home runs this season in
Jackson Hauge with 17,
Brady Ballinger with 14 and
Brady Counsell with 12. The Jayhawks have hit a home run in 24 of the last 27 games.
Kansas also leads the Big 12 in walks (fourth nationally), shutouts (tied for 12th nationally), runs (tied for 14th nationally), runs per game (24th nationally), on-base percentage (.416) and total bases (888). The Jayhawks are second in the league in hits (18th nationally) and slugging percentage (24th nationally).
Missouri (13-34) enters the week having dropped its last 11 games and is winless in SEC play this season. The Tigers last win came on April 15 against Missouri State. This year, Missouri is batting .262 as a team and has a 9.35 team ERA. Jackson Lovich leads the way offensively for the Tigers with a .342 batting average, eight home runs and 41 RBIs.
