STILLWATER, Okla. – No. 19 Kansas opens Big 12 Conference play on Thursday, Sept. 18, as the Jayhawks travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to face off against the Oklahoma State Cowgirls.
Thursday's match will begin at 7 p.m. CT from Neal Patterson Stadium and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Kansas went 1-0 last week, defeating Liberty on Sept. 14 to improve to 6-0-2 on the year. Sunday's match featured goals from three Jayhawks, as Olivia Page, Mary Sola and Jillian Gregorski all scored in the win. The win over Liberty capped off the first time in program history that Kansas soccer has gone undefeated through non-conference play.
"We finished up non-conference play strong with a good win over Liberty on Sunday," Kansas head coach Nate Lie said. "But now our focus shifts to the Big 12 opener at Oklahoma State, which will be a tough match to begin conference play."
Kansas remained in both national polls on Sept. 16, as the Jayhawks moved up to No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches poll and No. 12 in the TopDrawerSoccer poll. The United Soccer Coaches ranking is KU's highest since Oct. 20, 2020, when the Jayhawks reached No. 8 in the poll. The TDS ranking is KU's highest since Nov. 18, 2019, when the Jayhawks were ranked No. 14.
Caroline Castans currently ranks 14th in the country and third in the Big 12 in assists this year with five. Lexi Watts leads Kansas with five goals and 11 points this season after also leading the team in both categories last year, when she scored nine goals and tallied 21 points.

Oklahoma State has a record of 4-3-1, and the Cowgirls are coming off a 5-1 win against East Texas A&M on Sept. 11. OSU is led by Xcaret Pineda, who has scored five goals and tallied 11 points this season.Â
