LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas women's tennis will open the 2025-26 season by sending four athletes to compete in the ITA All-American Championships at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina, Sept. 20-27.Â

Heike Janse van Vuuren, Sandi Kenzhibayeva, and Meg McCarty will compete individually in women's prequalifying singles running Sept. 20-21, while Kyoka Kubo will play in the qualifying singles beginning Monday, Sept. 22. The doubles team of Kenzhibayeva and McCarty will be playing in the prequalifying round on Sept. 20-21, and the doubles squad of Van Vuuren and Kubo will be in the main draw of the doubles set to begin Sept. 24.Â

Kubo is ranked No. 103 in singles in the ITA preseason rankings, while Kubo and van Vuuren are No. 20 in doubles. The duo of Kenzhibayeva and McCarty are ranked No. 85 in doubles.Â

The ITA All-American Championships is the first major ITA event of the fall, and first opportunity to qualify for the national championships. Since 1983, the ITA Women's All-American Championships have featured the nation's top players and have been a pioneer in women's college tennis. The event will have a draw size of the following - singles: pre-qualifying (128), qualifying (64), main draw (64) and doubles: pre-qualifying (32), qualifying (32), main draw (32). From this, 10 singles players (eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists) and four main draw doubles semifinalists will qualify for the national championships for singles and doubles between Nov. 18-23 in Orlando, Florida.
