2009 CROSS COUNTRY: One of only seven Jayhawks to compete in all six meets…Ran an impressive 8K time of 25:28.40 at the OSU Cowboy Jamboree (Oct. 3) to finish 63rd…Recorded a season-best 8K time of 25:06.10 at the ISU Pre-Nationals Invitational, where he finished third on the KU squad and 94th overall…Ran the 10K course at the Midwest Regional Championships (Nov. 14) in 33:07.90…Named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team.
2009 OUTDOOR: Competed in five different events for KU…Finished 10th in the 3,000 meters at the Jim Click Shootout (Apr. 4)…Ran the 800 meters in 1:59.03 and the 1,500 meters in 3:59.52 at the John Jacobs Invitational (Apr. 11), finishing in ninth and 10th place, respectively…Ran a season-best 5,000 meter time of 15:02.29 at the Kansas Relays (April 16)…Finished 16th in the 10,000 meters and 19th in the 5,000 meters at the Big 12 Championships (March 15-17).
2009 INDOOR: Finished fourth in the 1,000 meters (2:36.51) at the KU vs. MU Duel (Jan. 16)…Ran a 2:03.77 in the 800 meters to finish 10th at the adidas Classic (Jan. 31)…Recorded a season-best mile time of 4:22.95 at the Husker Invitational (Feb. 7)…Placed eighth in the 3,000 meters with a season-best 8:43.52 at the ISU Classic (Feb. 14). 2008
CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in all six meets as a true freshman…Finished 13th in his debut at the Bob Timmons Classic after running an 8K time of 26:39.80…Recorded a personal-best 8K time of 26:09.10 at the ISU Pre-Nationals…Ran a 26:35.90 at the Big 12 Championships to place 71st…Finished third on the team and 57th overall in his first career 10K at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships after clocking in at 32:46.95.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in cross country, track and basketball…Helped Coach Dan Whisler and Sterling High School win three consecutive state championships in cross country (2005-07)…Kansas Class 2A Cross Country State Champion as a senior in 2007…Three-time all-state selection (2005-07)…Runner-up at the Kansas Class 2A Cross Country State Championships in 2005 and 2006…Named academic all-state in 2006 and 2007…Broke the 2A state record in the 3,200 meters in 2007…Won two track state championships in 2007 (1,600 meters and 3,200 meters).
