Bio
Riane Soash is in her first season at Kansas after joining head coach Carrie Cook-Callen's staff in July 2024.Â
Soash, a native of Kansas, returned to her home state after spending the summer of 2024 serving as an Operations Intern for USRowing during the inaugural RowFest National Championships. In this role, Soash oversaw on-water management, orchestrating immersive learning and development sessions, managing award ceremonies, and assisting in timing operations.Â
A former athlete herself, Soash began her rowing journey with the Riversport OKC Rowing Team before committing to Old Dominion University where she graduated with a degree in Sports Management. Throughout her athletic career, she earned spots on both the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll and the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team for three consecutive years (2020, 2021, and 2022). After her competitive years, Soash returned to her alma mater for the 2022-23 academic year, taking on the role of Student-Athlete Academic Services Assistant, where she managed the academic progress of over 150 student-athletes.Â
Beyond her achievements as a rower and student, Soash also has experience in coaching and served as an Assistant Rowing Coach for the OKC Boathouse Foundation from 2018 to 2019, where she contributed to the development of aspiring athletes.Â
