CLEMSON, S.C. – Kansas tennis dropped a 4-0 decision against the Clemson Tigers inside the Duckworth Tennis Facility in Clemson, South Carolina on Sunday. With the loss, Kansas falls to 6-3 this season, while Clemson improves to 9-1.

The match began with doubles, where the Jayhawk duo of
Gracie Mulville and Heike Janse van Vuuren improved to 7-2 this season with a 6-3 win over Clemson's Gaia Parravicini and Amelie Smejkalova. Kansas' duo of
Anna Putilina and
Yerkezhan Arystanbekova fell on court three to Clemson's Sophia Hatton and Annabelle Davis, 6-2.

Needing a win on court two to secure the doubles point, Kansas'
Kyoka Kubo and
Jasmine Adams battled to a tiebreak set with Clemson's Candela Yecora and Romana Cisovska before falling, 7-6 (7) to award Clemson the doubles point.

Clemson continued its momentum with two straight set wins in singles play, as Putilina fell to Parravicini, 6-1, 6-4, before van Vuuren fell to Aslanisvili, 6-4, 6-4.

With a 3-0 advantage, the Tigers clinched the match on court two as Titova fell to Smejkalova, 6-1, 3-6, 2-6. Mulville led Hatton on court one (5-7, 6-4, 3-2), while Kubo trailed Cisovska on court three (7-6, 3-6, 1-2) and Adams trailed Davis on court four (6-4, 0-6, 3-4), which all went unfinished.

Kansas will return home to take on Northwestern on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 12 p.m., in Kansas' final non-conference match. The Jayhawks will open Big 12 play with a pair of weekend matches at Texas Tech on Friday, Feb. 28 and at Colorado on Sunday, March 2.
