LOGAN, Utah - After winning its first three games of the season, No. 23 Kansas soccer hits the road for the first time this season as they travel to Logan, Utah to face off against Utah State on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. CT and the match will be aired on the Mountain West Network.Â
No. 23 Kansas (3-0-0) continued its hot start on Thursday with a 3-2 win over Utah Valley after a tight 1-0 win over South Dakota State on Aug. 17. Against Utah Valley, the Jayhawks jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first half, and were able to hold off UVU's second half attack to secure the 3-2 win.Â
"We started the year off by defending our home turf to pick up three good wins," head coach Nate Lie said. "This is our first road test of the season on Sunday against a great Utah State team, so we're looking to stay focused to try and grab another good win."
Senior forward Lexi Watts led the Jayhawks on Thursday with two goals, including one just 34 seconds into the game which marked the fourth-fastest goal in program history. Freshman forward Jordan Rowan netted her first collegiate goal in the match and sophomore goalkeeper Sophie Dawe set a new season high with four saves.Â
ABOUT UTAH STATEÂ
Utah State (1-1) has opened the season with consecutive road games, claiming a 1-0 win at Washington State on Aug. 14 before falling 1-0 at Pacific on Aug. 21. Utah State was picked to win the Mountain West Conference this season after an 18-1-5 finish last year under head coach Manny Martins.

Sunday's match will mark the first ever meeting between Kansas and Utah State in women's soccer.
