LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas men's golf team was selected to receive the 2024-25 Platform Golf Team Academic Award, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Tuesday.
The Jayhawks are one of a GCAA-record 292 schools across six divisions to earn a Platform Golf Team Academic Award, and part of 129 schools to receive the Presidents Special Recognition for having an average team GPA of 3.5 or above.
"I'm very proud of our entire team," Kansas coach Jamie Bermel said. "Obviously, we travel a lot and miss some school days, but the team handles their academics at a very high level and continues to excel in school."
Last week, Kansas seniors
Will King and
Luke Honner, and junior
Noah Holtzman were named the Cobalt All-American Scholars, an award also presented by the GCAA.
This is the second consecutive year that Kansas has received the team academic honor, after previously accumulating a 3.63 GPA from the 2023-24 season. The Jayhawks posted a team GPA of 3.66 in the 2024 fall semester, before recording their best academic semester in program history, carrying a team GPA of 3.74 for the 2025 spring semester.
The Jayhawks prepare to open their 2025-26 campaign with the Folds of Honor Collegiate at the Americans Dunes Golf Club in Grand Haven, Michigan on September 8-10.
