LYNCHBURG, Va. – No. 21 Kansas wraps up non-conference play on Sunday, Sept. 14, as the Jayhawks will travel to Lynchburg, Virginia to take on the Liberty Lady Flames.
Kansas went 1-0 last week, defeating Yale 4-0 on Sept. 7 to improve to 5-0-2 on the year. Sunday's match featured goals from four Jayhawks, as Livvy Moore, Jordan Rowan, Lexi Watts, and Saige Wimes all scored in the win.
"Coming off a strong offensive performance last week, we're trying to keep that same pressure and tempo on Sunday at Liberty," Kansas head coach Nate Lie said. "This is our last non-conference game, so we're looking to finish strong before conference action starts."
Kansas remained in both national polls on Sept. 9, as the Jayhawks moved up to No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches poll and No. 15 in the TopDrawerSoccer poll. The TDS ranking is KU's highest since Nov. 11, 2024, when the Jayhawks were ranked No. 16.Â
Watts leads Kansas in goals (five) and points (11) this season after also leading the team in both categories in 2024, when she scored nine goals and tallied 21 points. Jordan Rowan has starred in her freshman season, as she has scored three goals, which is tied for third on the team. Rowan has posted a .556 shot on goal percentage, with five shots on goal and nine total shots.Â
