BRYAN, Texas - The Kansas women's golf team is set to travel to Bryan, Texas to compete in the 22nd "Mo" Morial Invitational at the Traditions Club from April 6-8.
"We are very excited to go back to Texas A&M this week." Kansas head coach Lindsay Kuhle said. "We haven't been in over three years and are looking forward to the challenge.
Kansas is coming off its sixth top-five finish of the season, after placing fifth at the ASU PING Invitational, March 23-25.
The Jayhawks will compete in a 15-team field that includes Texas State, Baylor, Tulsa, Charlotte, Missouri, Lipscomb, Western Kentucky, Kansas, UTSA, Northern Colorado, Abilene Christian, Toledo, UL Monore, Sam Houston, and host school Texas A&M.
Kuhle will travel with a lineup of seniors Anna Wallin and Amy DeKock, junior Lyla Louderbaugh, redshirt-sophomore Zoe Pinillos, sophomore Jillian Fatkin, and freshman Kinslea Jones.
Louderbagh has led the way for the Jayhawks this season with four finishes inside the top five. Louderbaugh is carrying a stroke average of 71.7 over 27 rounds, and has competed in all nine events for the Jayhawks this season. Louderbaugh has recorded eight top-20 finishes and five rounds in the 60's.
DeKock has put together a successful senior season while tallying one win, two top-10 finishes, six top-20 finishes, and three rounds in the 60's. DeKock is carrying a stroke average of 72.9 and has recorded nine rounds under par on the season.
Fatkin is coming off her best three-round tournament of the season. Fatkin finished the ASU PING Invitational at 211 (-5) and tied for sixth place individually. Fatkin is carrying a stroke average of 75.0 and has recorded four top-20 finishes on the season.
"This tournament is another chance to play in a different state with different grass to help us prepare for the conference tournament in Dallas, and the post season," Kuhle said.
