
Jayhawks Finish Fourth at the “Mo” Morial at Traditions Club

BRYAN, Tex. – The Kansas women's golf team finished in fourth place at the 22nd "Mo" Morial at Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas after putting up its best round of the tournament on Wednesday. The Jayhawks finished with scores of 307-302-295 (+40).
"We started really well today and started off four-under through our first eight holes," Kansas head coach Lindsay Kuhle said. "I'm proud of how we showed up ready and played with more confidence today."
Host school Texas A&M won the 16-team tournament with a three-round score of 885 (+21), followed by Baylor (+24), Missouri (+35), Kansas (+40), and Tulsa (+43) to round out the top five.
Senior Amy DeKock led the way for the Jayhawks with rounds of 76-73-74 (+7) and tied for 10th place individually in the 84-golfer field. DeKock tallied her third top 10 finish of the season, seventh of her career, and seventh top 20 finish of the season, 18th of her career.
Freshman Kinslea Jones tied for 12th place after putting up rounds of 75-74-76 (+9). Jones recorded her third top 20 finish of the season and tallied 10 birdies throughout the tournament.
Junior Lyla Louderbaugh finished with scores of 80-77-70 (+11) and tied for 23rd place individually. Louderbaugh's round three score of 70 (-2) was the best round of any Jayhawk during the tournament, while she carded five birdies throughout the round and jumped up 22 spots individually.
"I'm proud of how Lyla played today with the lowest round of the tournament for us and for Amy's top 10 finish," Kuhle said. "We had three solid scorers this week but will need all five at the conference tournament to compete with the best."
Senior Anna Wallin carded scores of 76-83-75 (+18) and tied for 45th place, while sophomore Jillian Fatkin finished the tournament tied for 50th place with scores of 82-78-76.
Redshirt sophomore Zoe Pinillos competed as an individual throughout the tournament and finished with scores of 81-79-79 (+23). Pinillos tied for 57th place in her third event of the season.
"We have a bit of work to do before the conference championship to be prepared for that event, but it was great playing in Texas to get used to the climate and grass here. We are looking forward to the next two weeks preparing for Dallas," Kuhle said.

Kansas will next compete at the Big 12 Championship in Dallas from April 23-25 at the Dallas Athletic Club Gold Course.
