OREM, Utah – No. 17 Kansas will close out its four-match road swing on Thursday, Aug. 27 at Utah Valley in Orem, Utah. The match is slated to begin at 8 p.m. CT, and will be broadcast on ESPN+.

"Coming off a 1-1 weekend, we know we have to take the lessons from those matches and continue to improve," Kansas head coach Nate Lie said. "Utah Valley is a tough opponent, especially on their home field, and they're going to challenge us in every phase of the game. Our focus has to be on the details, staying composed, and competing for 90 minutes. We're looking forward to the opportunity and need to be ready from the opening whistle."

In its last outing, Kansas scored a flurry of goals late in the 3-1 win at Kent State on Aug. 23. Junior Jillian Gregorski scored two goals for the Jayhawks, with senior Caroline Castans adding another goal. Kansas outshot Kent State 17-2, including 9-2 in shots on goal. KU also took 14 corners in the match. Kansas scored three goals in the span of five minutes in the victory.Â

Castans was named to the 2026 Women's Hermann Trophy Watch List, the United Soccer Coaches announced Wednesday. It is the second straight season that Castans has been named to the preseason watchlist. The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club and is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by voting of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.Â

The Jayhawks remained in the top 20 in both national rankings this week, coming in at No. 17 in the Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) poll and No. 14 in the TopDrawerSoccer poll. Kansas has now been ranked inside the top 20 of the IWSOC rankings for three-consecutive weeks for the first time since 2019. Last week, the Jayhawks were ranked No. 12 in the poll, which is the program's highest ranking under Lie who is in his third season at KU. Kansas is in a three-way tie for No. 17 with UCLA and Georgia.Â

ABOUT UTAH VALLEY
Utah Valley is coming off a 1-0 loss against Utah State on Aug. 24. The Wolverines sit at 0-2-1, with a 1-1 draw against Michigan and a 2-0 loss against fellow Big 12 foe Utah. Addie Olson has scored the lone goal for UVU this season.Â

SERIES HISTORY
Kansas played Utah Valley for the first time last season on Aug. 21, 2025, with the Jayhawks taking the match by a score of 3-2 at Rock Chalk Park. Kansas scored its first goal of the match just 34 seconds in by Lexi Watts, which was the fourth fastest goal scored in program history. Thursday's meeting is the second meeting between the Jayhawks and the Wolverines all-time.Â
