Get to Know Kara ...
Why did you choose KU?- I mainly chose KU for its journalism and sports broadcasting program because it's one of the best in the country.
How did you get introduced to rowing?
- I came to KU for academics, but shortly into my first semester I got an email from Coach Hovis about trying out for the team and becoming a Division I athlete. I always wanted to play sports in college and this was a great opportunity for me to achieve this childhood dream.
Favorite thing to do in Lawrence?
- My favorite thing to do in Lawrence is go to Wells Overlook and watch the sunset during the summertime.
- My favorite pre-race tradition is listening to the songs I really like at the moment.
