Rachel Cooper joined the Kansas football staff under head coach Lance Leipold in March of 2025 as Kansas' Director of Internal Operations.
Cooper came to Kansas from Georgia Southern, where she was the Director of Football Operations since 2023. Cooper served as the Assistant Director of Operations at Georgia Southern from 2022-2023.
Prior to Georgia Southern, Cooper worked as a graduate assistant working with linebackers and in football operations at UW-Whitewater in 2022. She was the first female member of the coaching staff in program history and helped lead Whitewater to a 13-1 record and a spot in the Division III national semifinals.
Cooper served as an administrative assistant for the program as an undergraduate student from 2017-21. She worked day to day in various roles in event coordination, recruiting, office management, travel logistics, communications, and numerous other collaborations with the coaching staff.
Cooper, who grew up in Whitewater before moving to Munising, Michigan, with her family, graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2021 with a degree in
general management and emphasis in managing sport programs. She also earned a certificate in experiential and sports marketing. She earned a master’s in higher education leadership with emphasis in athletic administration at UW-W in 2022.
