️⚽️ Kansas Soccer Adds Thomas to 2020 Signing Class

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Standout defender Morgan Thomas has been added to the KU soccer signing class it was announced by head coach Mark Francis Thursday. Thomas is the eighth member of the incoming class for 2020.

A native of McDonough, Georgia, Thomas will come to Lawrence after an impressive high school career at Eagles Landing Christian Academy, both on the pitch as well as the track. The 5-foot-9 defender scored 24 goals and led her team in assists as a freshman, which earned her a spot on the All-Region and All-State teams in 2017. As a member of Tophat SC, she helped her club to the ECNL quarterfinals in 2018 while also securing a spot on the Olympic Development Program.

Thomas is also an accomplished sprinter for the Chargers’ track team. She was a member of the 4×400-meter relay team that advanced to the state semifinals in 2018, which earned her all-state accolades that same year.

Thomas is the eighth newcomer to be added to the 2020 KU soccer roster, which is looking to fill the void left by seven departing letterwinners and four starters from last year’s Big 12 Tournament Championship team.
