PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – The opening round of the White Sands Bahamas Fall Invitational was cut short for the Kansas women's golf team on Friday due to heavy rain in the area.Â

Heavy rains forced the cancelation of Friday's opening round in Paradise Island, Bahamas as play was suspended at 9:07 a.m. CT.Â

After just five holes of play, the Jayhawks currently sit alone in first place at +2, while junior
Amy DeKock and senior
Johanna Ebner share a tie for fourth place at even par. Senior
Lily Hirst and sophomore
Lyla Louderbaugh are both tied for 16th at +1, while senior
Lauren Clark is T47 at +3. Senior
Jordan Rothman, who is competing as an individual for Kansas, is tied for fourth place at even par.Â

The event at Ocean Club Golf Course will now be shortened to 18 holes of play on Saturday and Sunday, with tee times starting at 7:00 a.m. CT each day.Â
