"After playing our first two matches on the road, we're excited to play in front of our fans on Thursday night at Rock Chalk Park," head coach Nate Lie said. "It was great to earn a couple results last week, but we have to continue working on the details. We hope to take another step forward this week, and that begins on Thursday against Tulsa."

Kansas (2-0) has started the season with a pair of wins for the first time since 2020. The Jayhawks opened their season with a five-day road trip that resulted in a 2-1 win at South Dakota State and a 1-0 shutout victory at Drake.

Sophie Dawe recorded her first career shutout. The clean sheet was the first of the season for Kansas. On the offensive side, redshirt junior
Emika Kawagishi, a transfer from NC State, scored the only goal of the match for the Jayhawks.

The 2-1 victory in the season opener at South Dakota State saw freshmen
Jillian Gregorski and
Shea Ryan score goals in their first career game. They also assisted on each other's goals.

Kansas is 16-10-3 all-time in home openers and 4-4-2 at Rock Chalk Park.

ABOUT TULSA
Tulsa (1-1) started the season with a 5-2 win at Central Arkansas and a 1-0 loss at Missouri State. The Hurricanes returned nine starters from a season ago, including 62 percent of their scoring production. Tulsa returned its leading goal scorer in Jordan Frederick this season and its goalkeeper Tatum Sanders, who made 62 saves and tallied four shutouts a season ago.

SERIES HISTORY
Kansas trails the all-time series 3-2-0 to Tulsa. The series dates back to 1995, the first season of soccer in program history. Tulsa won the first three meetings, but the Jayhawks have won the last two matches. Most recently, the teams played on Aug. 25, 2017 in Tulsa where Kansas earned a 2-0 shutout.

Free transportation to Rock Chalk Park is available for students from the Kansas Union and Daisy Hill at 5:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Following the match, students will be picked up at Rock Chalk Park and dropped off at the Kansas Union and Daisy Hill.
