LAWRENCE, Kan. – On Thursday evening at Rock Chalk Park, Kansas Soccer will have its third annual Domestic Violence Awareness Game. The match set for 7 p.m. CT against USF, will be used as a platform to provide information about domestic violence resources in the community and focus on the impact of domestic violence.
The Kansas Soccer family lost a former Jayhawk as a result of domestic violence. In May 2022, Regan Gibbs was a victim of domestic violence. Gibbs, who was 25, played goalkeeper at KU from 2015-18. Kansas will be wearing a patch on its uniforms Thursday in honor of Gibbs. A moment of silence will be held for Gibbs and all domestic violence victims before the game.
Kansas will be partnering with the Willow Domestic Violence Center to host a donation drive for Thursday's game. Fans interested in making a donation should bring any of the below items to the game. There will be a place to drop off donations outside the gate where fans enter.

The Willow Domestic Violence Center builds safer communities through shelter, services, and support to survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking in Douglas, Franklin, and Jefferson counties. At the game, staff members from the Willow Domestic Violence Center will be recognized for their dedication to keeping resources available in the community for domestic violence survivors.
