PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Kansas women's golf team is tied for fifth place after the opening round of the ASU Ping Invitational, shooting a team score of 287 (-1) on Friday.
"It was a total team effort today, just amazing to have seven players shoot 70 to 74 on this course," said Kansas head coach
Lindsay Kuhle. "We had it going pretty much the whole day and it was very consistent play. A couple of our players really bounced back, which is fun to see, and we finished really strong on some difficult holes with the wind. So proud of the effort and I think we're in a great place and really proud of our day."
Host Arizona State leads the way at -15, followed by Northwestern (-9), Pepperdine (-2), UCLA (-2) and Kansas (-1) to round out the top five of the team leaderboard.
