PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Kansas women's golf team sits in third place at the ASU Ping Invitational at 577 (+1). The Jayhawks put together an impressive second round score of 290 (+2) and jumped three teams to move into the top three.Â

"We're looking forward to playing in the final group tomorrow with ASU and Northwestern, and it's exactly what we want," Kansas head coach Linsday Kuhle said. "This experience will help us in conference, regionals and postseason, so we're looking forward to tomorrow's final round."

Host Arizona State leads the field at -27, followed by Northwestern (-13),
KANSAS (+1), UCLA (+2) and Pepperdine (+5) to round out the top five.Â

Freshman
Ebba Nordstedt led the way for the Jayhawks in the second round of the ASU Ping Invitational with a score of 71 (-1). Nordstedt carded four birdies with an eagle, and was the only Jayhawk to record a score under-par. Nordstedt is tied for 12th place going into the final round of the tournament.Â

Sophomore
Lyla Louderbaugh finished the day shooting a 72 (E) and leads all Jayhawks individually, as she sits inside the top 10 tied for ninth place.Â

"Awesome rounds today by our underclassmen Ebba and Lyla, finishing one under and even says a lot about the depth of our program and how great this team really is to have a freshman and a sophomore step up today and post the low rounds of the day." Coach Kuhle adds.Â

Lily Hirst carded two birdies en route to a second round score of 73 (+1), and sits tied for 26th place heading into the final round of play.Â

Lauren Clark finished the round with a score of 74 (+2). Clark is tied for 30th place with tournament scores of 73-74 (+3).Â

Amy DeKock fired a 77 (+5) in the second round and sits tied for 30th place individually.Â

Individuals
Johanna Ebner and
Anna Wallin competed in the second round of the tournament as individuals. Wallin sits in 52nd place with tournament scores of 74-76 (+6), and Ebner sits in 60th place with scores of 73-79 (+8).Â
