2010 OUTDOOR: Placed 24th in the 5,000 meter at the Kansas Relays (Apr. 16) with a time of 19:03.09… Finished 12th in the 5,000 meters at the Twilight Invitational (May 1) with a season best 18:45.19.
2010 INDOOR: Finished 11th overall and recorded 3,000 meter time of 10:58.61 at the Bill Easton Classic (Jan. 8)… Ran a 11:03.37 3,000 meters time at the KU vs. MU Duel (Jan. 15) to take tenth place overall… Finished with a 5:32.86 mile at the Bob Timmons Challenge (Dec. 4) taking fifth place overall… Celebrated a career best 3,000 meters time of 10:51.38 at the Bob Timmons Challenge (Dec. 4) to take sixth place.
2009 CROSS COUNTRY: Returned to cross country after taking a redshirt season in 2008…Competed in two meets for the Jayhawks…Posted her best finish at the Bob Timmons Classic (Sept. 5), where she placed 19th with a 5K time of 20:01.49…Finished 26th at the Missouri Cross Country Challenge in a 5K time of 20:29.30 (Sept. 12).

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in cross country and track (1,600 meters and 3,200 meters)…Regional qualifier as a senior in 2007…Selected to receive the Plano West Cross Country/Track Scholarship as a senior…Named first team all-district cross country in 2007…Also Lettered in soccer as a freshman…Member of the F.C. Dallas Soccer Club from 2000-2006…Was the team captain of her club soccer team as a sophomore and junior, where she earned the player[apos]s choice award both years and MVP as a junior…Honor roll student and member of the National Honor Society all four years.
PERSONAL: Daughter of University of Kansas graduates Gary and Kellye Abernathy…Majoring in exercise science…Grandparents Charles and Marie McCarthy, Uncle Kent McCarthy and Brother Brendan Abernathy all attended KU…Brother, Ian, played rugby at StanfordUniversity.
