Get to Know Halle ...
At what age did you start swimming and how did you get into the sport?
- I started swimming at the age of 8 after a close friend of mine told me to try it. I instantly loved it.
- Listening to music always helps me get in the zone and to stay calm. I also like cheering for my teammates to get my energy and vibes up before a race.
- I have never eaten sushi.
- I would try cross country because I used to do it when I was younger, and even though it's a grueling sport, it's also very rewarding.
- Push yourself past your limits because you are always capable of accomplishing more than you think. And, most importantly, have fun.
- My mom has been my steady role model ever since I started swimming. Her unending support and love for both me and swimming got me to where I am today.
- I chose KU because of the sense of community, high academic success and it has one of the strongest athletic programs in the country.
