At what age did you start swimming and how did you get into the sport?
I started at 11 because my parents decided to put me in it.
What routines do you practice before a big race to help you focus and stay ready?
I do lots of stretching, have a good warm up in the pool and listen to some fun hype music.
What is something that someone wouldn't know about you?
I used to have an arctic fox as a pet.
What sport would you play if you did not swim and why?
Volleyball. I used to play for a couple years and loved it but quit to take swim more seriously.
What advice would you give to young athletes who are just starting out in swimming?
Don’t get discouraged by the times on the clock, they’ll come with consistency.
Who is a role model in your life that pushed you to be better in and out of the pool?
Jesus Christ.
Why did you choose the University of Kansas?
It was out of state and a Power Five school that offers a lot of resources for its student-athletes.
