LAWRENCE, Kan. - Former Kansas men's golfers Gary Woodland and Matt Gogel are set to be inducted into the Kansas Golf Hall of Fame's 2024 class on Monday.
Announced in April, the Kansas Golf Foundation adds a pair of University of Kansas golf titans to its Hall of Fame, along with Derby resident Woody Austin.
Woodland, a current PGA Tour player and 2019 U.S. Open champion, played for Kansas from 2004-07. Gogel, a former PGA Tour player and current PGA Tour Champions player, competed as a Jayhawk from 1991-94.
Woodland is a four-time winner on the Tour and was an All-Big 12 Conference selection for the Jayhawks in 2006 and 2007. Woodland is second in Kansas history with 26 rounds in the 60s and is second in career wins with four as a Jayhawk. A Topeka, Kansas native, Woodland has played in 363 PGA Tour events and has 54 top-10 finishes and 29 top-5 finishes to accompany his four wins.
An All-American golfer in 1993, Gogel was a three-time All-Big Eight Tournament selection, which includes winning medalist honors in 1991. Gogel also holds the 54-hole individual record in an NCAA Championship with a score of 223 in 1993. Gogel notched one win on the PGA Tour in 179 events and now competes full-time on the PGA Tour Champions Tour. Gogel played a key role in the renovation of the Jayhawk Club, the home golf course and practice facility for the KU men's and women's golf programs.
Woodland and Gogel will be formally inducted into the Hall of Fame on Monday at the Overland Park Marriott.
