CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Kansas Women's Golf had a program-best six student-athletes named to the 2023-24 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, which was announced Monday.
Jayhawks to earn the prestigious honor include Hanna Hawks, Johanna Ebner, Lyla Louderbaugh, Jordan Rothman, Lily Hirst and Lauren Clark. 1,497 women's collegiate golfers from 412 programs were recognized with the honor.
"I am thrilled that these six ladies were honored on the team and set a new program record," said KU head coach Lindsay Kuhle. "We have hardworking student-athletes that make academics and golf a priority here. These ladies are high achievers and disciplined student-athletes deserving of this award. I am proud of the work they put in each semester."
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in 50 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
Ebner and Rothman are receiving the honor for a third-consecutive season, while Clark and Hawks tabbed their second year of recognition. Hirst and Louderbaugh claimed the distinction in their first seasons at KU.
The six WGCA All-American Scholar Team selections represent a new single-season program record, surpassing the previous best of five, which Kansas accomplished in 2023.
