LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas women's golf team sits in second place at the Jayhawk Invitational after 36-holes at the Jayhawk Club Sunday. The Jayhawks finished the day with rounds of 297-293, and had two golfers tied for second place going into Monday's final round.Â

ULM leads the way with a score of 587 (+11), followed by
KANSAS (+14), Wichita State (+37), UT Arlington (+38), and Longwood (+42) to round out the top five.Â

"We finished really strong," Kansas head coach
Lindsay Kuhle said. "We didn't get off to necessarily a great start and then the wind picked up a little bit. I'm really proud of our ladies for just staying confident out there, trusting the work and the preparation that we put in. I think we're in a great position to have a great round tomorrow."

Amy DeKock and junior
Lyla Louderbaugh both led the way for the Jayhawks, and both sit tied for second after two rounds. DeKock finished her day with scores of 74-73 (+3) and carded six birdies on the day. Louderbaugh carded eight birdies on the day, and finished with scores of 74-73 (+3). Both golfers sit one stroke back of the leader, ahead of round three on Monday.Â

Anna Wallin finished both rounds with scores of 75-73 (+4), and finished her day carding two birdies on her final nine holes. Wallin is currently tied for seventh place going into the final round.Â

Sophomore
Jillian Fatkin and freshman
Kinslea Jones both had impressive performances in their Kansas debut. Fatkin finished with scores of 76-74 (+6) and carded five brides on the day. Jones got off to a hot start and finished her first nine holes at 1-under, and ended her rounds with scores of 74-76 (+6). Both newcomers are tied for 10th, and only sit four shots behind the leader.Â

"We have a few individuals competing for a championship, so I think it's great that it's been a total team effort for both rounds and everyone contributed," Kuhle said. "I look forward to seeing how all seven of the players show up tomorrow ready to compete and play their best golf."

Zoe Pinillos and freshman
Marieke Ebens are competing as individuals. Pinillos finished with scores of 76-78 (+10) and sits inside the top 20, tied for 20th place. Ebens finished with scores of 79-88 (+23) and is tied for 46th place.
