IOWA CITY, Iowa – Kansas swimming and diving closed out day 3 of the Hawkeye Invitational with 680 points, placing 4th amongst nine other teams.

Along with 10 personal records and a new school record set by senior
Lydia Lafferty in the 100-yard butterfly finals, the Jayhawks had 21 student-athletes qualify for the championships of their respective events.
Prelims started with senior
Lydia Lafferty (53.56), sophomore
Anna Gearhart (54.47), sophomore
Ella Hansen (54.75), junior
Mia Waldron (PR: 55.61), and freshman
Sarah Blake (56.64) all clocking times to move to the finals of the 100-yard butterfly.
The 400-yard IM finalists included freshman
Madison Wagner (4:23.48), freshman
Sammy Cummins (4:25.96), sophomore
Maya Lambert (4:26.85), senior
Hailey Farrell (4:27.67), freshman
Rebecca Pickert (4:31.68), and senior
Aidan Howze (4:33.09).

Ivy Solt (1:48.84), as well as fellow sophomores
Gabi Dyer (1:50.33) and
Taylor Cloutman (1:51.55) were the three finalists for the 200-yard freestyle championship.

Aidan Howze (1:04.19), as well as sophomore
Alayna Henage (1:03.95) added to the plethora of Jayhawk finalists in the 100-yard breastroke.
For the final swimming prelim, Lafferty (PR: 52.92), with junior
Bradie Ward (PR: 54.93) and freshman
Kelsey Healy (55.58) went on to compete in the 100-yard backstroke championship.
Prelims on the boards had junior
Shiyun Lai, with 366.25 points, qualify for the 3-meter diving finals.
Starting off strong, Lafferty secured her second new school record and personal best of the season in the 100-yard butterfly, breaking her previous one set 12 days ago for a 52.96 time and 2nd place finish. Gearhart placed 5
th at 54.03 and
Ella Hansen in 10
th just a second behind. Waldron got 24
th with a personal record time of 55.61 and Blake landed in 30
th.
Wagner claimed a lifetime best and led the Jayhawks in 400-yard IM, claiming 9
th with 4:19.52. Cummins got 16
th with Lambert following up closely behind in 17
th and a PR time of 4:22.90. Farrell placed 23
rd and Pickert in 28
th.
The 200-yard freestyle added two personal best times with
Ivy Solt's 1:47.92, 6
th place completion and
Taylor Cloutman's 1:51.05, 29
th finish. Dyer concluded the race in 15
th.
Taking 6
th in the 100-yard breastroke, Johnston posted a time of 1:01.34.
Caroline Blake took 12
th place, Robinson with 15
th place, Henage at 20
th, and Howze at 24
th.
Lafferty took home her second personal best time of the night and runner-up standing with a 52.92 in the 100-yard backstroke. Ward followed up Lafferty in 8
th at 55.17 with another PR in the event and Healy took 14
th.
Just 31 milliseconds away from scoring runner up in the 400-yard medley relay, Kansas' A team (Lafferty, Johnston, Gearhart, and
Sarah Blake) landed 3
rd place at 3:38.95 to conclude the night of swim events.
Lai accomplished another 1
st place victory on the boards for the 3-meter dive, totaling 364.15 points.
The Hawkeye Invitational concludes Friday, Nov. 21
st, with preliminary rounds beginning at 10 a.m. CT and finals at 4 p.m. CT.
