Why Did You Choose KU?
I chose KU because it gave me the opportunity to continue my education abroad while experiencing incredible school spirit and a strong support system for international students. I wanted to challenge myself by starting a new chapter far from home, and KU gave me the opportunity to do that.
How Did You Get Introduced to Rowing?
I was introduced to rowing at KU after seeing the rowing table at Union Fest during my freshman year. I had never rowed before, but I stopped to learn more and decided to give it a try. I went to tryouts, walked onto the team and quickly fell in love with the sport and its competitive environment.
Favorite Thing to Do in Lawrence?
I love exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, taking long walks at the Baker Wetlands or Clinton Lake, and spending time with my teammates and friends.
Favorite Pre-Race Tradition
I like to have a slicked-back low bun, a Coconut Red Bull and “Aitäh” by 5MIINUST playing in my headphones.
Personal
Her father, Priit, is an engineer, and her mother, Raili, is a social worker. She has a younger sister, Liisa. A fun fact about her is that she took singing lessons for seven years, sang in choir for 12 years and can play the guitar.
