Why Did You Choose KU?
I chose KU because of the incredible coaches, teammates, and culture. The team’s support and sense of community stood out to me, and I knew KU would challenge me to grow and succeed both academically and athletically.
How Did You Get Introduced to Rowing?
I was introduced to rowing when KU coaches found my volleyball highlight videos. After connecting with the team, I loved the culture and competitive environment and knew KU rowing was the right fit for me.
Favorite Thing to Do in Lawrence?
One of my favorite things to do in Lawrence is grab ice cream at Sylas and Maddy’s with my friends. I also love walking around downtown, checking out the local shops and boutiques, and trying new restaurants that I don’t have back home. There’s always something new to explore, and I love having so many fun places to make memories with my friends outside of rowing.
Favorite Pre-Race Tradition
Before any competition, I always do my signature slick-back into a braid. It’s become a little ritual that helps me get locked in and ready to compete. And, of course, I have to listen to Taylor Swift before I race, it’s not a competition day without it!
