Why Did You Choose KU?
I chose KU because of its culture of success and high expectations. From the beginning, I appreciated how direct and transparent the coaching staff was and how clearly they communicated their vision for success. I felt that KU provided an environment where I could challenge myself, grow, and thrive not only athletically, but also academically and socially.
How Did You Get Introduced to Rowing?
I got into rowing almost by accident. While cross-training and planning to return to track, I started using the erg we had in our basement out of curiosity. What began as a way to cross-train quickly turned into something I loved, and the rest is history.
Favorite Thing to Do in Lawrence?
My favorite thing to do in Lawrence is try new foods and explore different restaurants, especially downtown and along Massachusetts Street. I also love going to different sporting events with my teammates and experiencing all that Lawrence has to offer.
Personal
I am originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I am the daughter of Beth and Eric Borst and come from an athletic family. My mom, Beth, competed in track and field at the collegiate level, while my younger sister, Kaylen, is a senior in high school who competes in basketball and track and field.
