
Jayhawks Travel to Memphis for ITA Central Region Championship

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Kansas women's tennis team will compete in the ITA Central Region Championships this weekend in Memphis, Tennessee. The tournament will start on Oct. 9 and will continue through Oct. 14. Â
The Jayhawks will have a pair of athletes start on Oct. 9, with Meriem Ben Ezzedine facing off against Minnesota's Yinong Ma and Simryn Jacob facing off against Missouri State's Lucy Latham. Kansas will also compete in doubles action starting on Oct. 10. Jasmine Adams and Kyoka Kubo will compete against Missouri's Christine Canete and Korina Roso. The team of Gracie Mulville and Heike Janse Van Vuuren will go up against Lindenwood's Yana Gaskell and Fabiana Labrador. Meriem Ben Ezzedine and Simryn Jacob will compete against Arkansas's Carolina Gomez Alonso and Olga Bienzobas. Results and future matchups can be found here.Â
The ITA Central Region Championships were hosted by Kansas last year, held at the Jayhawk Tennis Center. The duo of Mulville and Van Vuuren advanced to the quarterfinals of the tournament in women's doubles. Mulville and Kubo both competed in women's singles, with both advancing to the round of 16.Â
Kansas also features two athletes in the ITA Preseason Rankings, with Mulville ranked No. 116 in singles and Mulville and Van Vuuren ranked No. 69 in doubles.  Â
