LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas swimming and diving competed against Nebraska on Friday evening at Robinson Natatorium, falling to the Huskers 182-117.Â
The Jayhawks compiled four first-place finishes and was led by Big 12 Diver of the Week Shiyun Lai, who won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.Â
"We definitely looked like a team that has raced four weekends straight," said KU head coach Clark Campbell. "We weren't quite as sharp as I hoped we would be but hats off to Nebraska. They came down here and really put it to us. They were the faster team. We're looking forward to our midseason meet but we need to give our team time to recover. We're tired right now and need a couple of good weeks of training before we come to midseason. I'm really happy for how they did, especially where we are right now in the season. A little flat today, but we'll be okay for midseason."Â
The dual meet kicked off with the 200-yard medley relay and fell into the hands of Kansas in first place. The relay team of Lezli Sisung, Ryan Johnston, Lydia Lafferty and Caroline Blake clocked a time of 1:41.05 to secure Kansas' first win of the night.Â
