36 Jayhawks Named to Winter Academic All-Big 12 Teams

The Big 12 Conference announced the Winter Academic All-Big 12 Teams on Tuesday. Kansas placed 36 total student-athletes on the squads, with 32 on the first team and four on the second team. The winter teams consist of student-athletes from men’s and women’s basketball and women's swim and dive. 

🏊‍♀️ Team Captains Announced for 2024-25 Season

Kansas swimming and diving seniors Ellie Howe, Addi Barnes and Eleni Kotzamanis have been named team captains for the 2024-25 season, head coach Clark Campbell announced Tuesday.

Kansas diver Shiyun Lai was named to the All-Big 12 First Team and swimmers Lydia Lafferty and Lezli Sisung earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors, the conference office announced Thursday.

Maureen “Mo” Sheehan, a widely renowned coach who swam at the University of Kansas and served the swimming community for 38 years, passed away on March 17 at 65 years old.

Ainsley Dillon, Hailey Farrell, Brigid Gwidt and Lize van Leeuwen were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for their performance in the pool and the classroom. All four KU honorees were nominated with a 4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

Kansas divers Shiyun Lai, Lize van Leeuwen, Gabriela San Juan Carmona and Lauren Gryboski are set to dive at the 2024 NCAA Zone D Diving Championships from March 11-13 at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.

🏊‍♀️ Lai Wins Three-Meter Event, Kansas Finishes Seventh at 2024 Big 12 Championships

Freshman diver Shiyun Lai earned first-place honors in the three-meter dive as the Kansas swimming and diving team placed seventh in the 2024 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships with 647.50 points, which concluded on Saturday at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.
