
Kansas Wraps Up Day 4 at Big 12 Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Kansas Jayhawks concluded day four of the 2025 Big 12 Championships on Friday at Weyerhaeuser King Aquatic Center, entering the final day of competition in eighth place with 435 points.Â
"We had another solid day in which our backstrokers led the way with four finalists," said Kansas head coach Clark Campbell. "We are ready to finish the meet strong tomorrow."Â
Five Jayhawks qualified for finals on Friday evening, with three advancing to the consolation final and two to the C-final. Lydia Lafferty, Lezli Sisung and Eleni Kotzamanis competed in the consolation final of the 100 back, while Ellie Howe (100 back) and Ryan Johnston (100 breast) raced in the C-final of their respective events.Â
Johnston opened Kansas' finals session in the 100 breast C-final, winning the heat and placing 17th overall with a time of 1:01.54.Â
The 100 back followed, as Howe competed in the C-final and finished 24th overall with a time of 54.84. Lafferty (11th - 53.85), Sisung (12th -Â 54.04) and Kotzamanis (16th - 55.18) rounded out the Jayhawks in the consolation final.Â
The 200 free relay concluded day four of the conference championships, with the relay team of Caroline Blake, Howe, Lafferty and Claire Hyatt clocking a time of 1:31.81 to secure eighth place in the final event of the night.Â
