Bio

Eric Terrazas joined the Kansas football staff as an offensive analyst in April of 2024, following a season as an offensive analyst at Iowa State in 2023.

In 2023 at Iowa State, Terrazas helped the Cyclones reach the Liberty Bowl and finish with a 7-6 overall record, including 6-3 in Big 12 action. The Cyclones win improvement in conference play (+5) led all Power-5 teams.

The Cyclones increased their scoring production by nearly a touchdown to 26.2 points per game in 2023, while leading the nation with 11 offensive touchdowns of 50-plus yards.

Redshirt freshman Rocco Becht was named Big 12 Offensive freshman of the Year and a Second-Team All-American after passing for more than 3,000 yards and 23 touchdowns while breaking nearly every ISU freshman passing record. Freshman running back Abu Sama III rushed for 276 yards in a win against K-State and earned 247Sports True Freshman All-America honors.

Iowa State was 31-for-33 (93.9) in the red zone, leading the Big 12 Conference and ranking seventh nationally.

Terrazas spent the previous six seasons at Indiana Wesleyan running a Wildcat offense that ranked among NAIA’s best during his tenure. Terrazas was named 2022 MSFA Assistant Coach of the Year.

The Wildcats went 33-15 (.688) during Terrazas’ tenure as offensive coordinator, including 11-2 in 2022 while advancing to the NAIA FCS Semifinals and rising to No. 5 in the final regular season coaches poll.

The 2022 team had 21 players earn all-conference honors, while wide receiver Jacquez Carter earned AFCA First Team All-America honors and was MSFA Offensive Player of the Year. Terrazas also coached three-time NAIA All-American wide receiver Brayden Smith.

Prior to his time at Indiana Wesleyan, Terrazas was at NCAA Division III Wheaton (Ill.) where he coached linebackers, tight ends and special teams before serving as quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator in 2016.

Wheaton posted back-to-back 10-0 CCIW seasons and reached the Division III Elite Eight in 2016, while also finishing in the Top 25 nationally all five seasons.

In total, he’s coached a total of five conference champions and five playoff appearances in 10 seasons at the two institutions. The teams he has worked with have posted seven Top 25 finishes in the coaches poll. He has coached a total of 34 all-conference selections, four conference players of the year and six All-Americans.

The Wheaton, Illinois, native was a four-year starter and two-year captain on the Illinois wrestling team. He was a two-time NCAA Championship qualifier and three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in recreation, sport and tourism from Illinois in 2012. Terrazas is married to Sarah and the couple has two daughters, Leighton Mae and Lola.
