Bio

Jacob Fouts returned to the Kansas Athletic Department as an athletic training fellow in August 2019 before being promoted to an assistant athletic trainer in July 2020. He oversees the softball team.

Fouts returned to KU after a year-long stint at Syracuse where he oversaw the men’s rowing team and assisted with the women’s lacrosse program.

Prior to SU, Fouts was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Wichita State University. He spent two seasons working with the softball team while obtaining a master’s degree in exercise science that he graduated with in 2018. While at WSU, he also served as a graduate teaching assistant and athletic training clinical preceptor. Fouts earned his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of Kansas in 2016.

A native of Hays, Kansas, Fouts now resides in Lawrence and is a certified and licensed athletic trainer in the state of Kansas, is American Red Cross AED/CPR certified, is a certified strength and conditioning specialist and is trained in Mental Health First Aid. Fouts remains a member of the NATA, Kansas Athletic Trainers’ Society, Mid America Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
