Samantha Palomino

Bio

Samantha Palomino is the coordinator for KU Leads, Kansas Athletics student athlete development program. In this role, she coordinates components of KU Leads Signature Events, serves as a mentor in the Leadership Academy program for first year student-athletes, assists with SAAC and is the liaison for Community Engagement.  

Since joining Kansas Athletics, Samantha was selected to attend the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar in February 2023, which provides leadership and educational programming for current graduate assistants and interns.  

Samantha joined Kansas Athletics as a graduate assistant after graduating from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi in May 2022. During her time at TAMUCC, she was a student athlete on the Islanders soccer team and earned multiple honors, including Southland Conference All-Academic and All-Conference Second Team in 2021. Samantha was also involved with the Student Athlete Advisory, as a team representative from 2019-2021 and president from 2021-2022. As a student athlete, Palomino earned Southland Conference All-Academic and All-Conference Second Team honors in 2021. She also received the TAMUCC Islander Legacy Alumni Ring in 2022, awarded for outstanding contributions to the campus and community. 

During her time at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Palomino was a sports performance intern in her final semester, where she supervised and monitored student athletes in the weight room and assisted the sports performance staff with team training and weight room sessions.  

She earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in pre-allied health and a minor in psychology from Texas A&M Corpus Christi and is pursuing a master’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Kansas and is expected to graduate in May 2024.
