Jayhawks to Host FC Kansas City in Exhibition Saturday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas soccer will continue its spring exhibition season Saturday, March 26 when the Jayhawks welcome FC Kansas City for a noon match at Rock Chalk Park. Admission will be free to the public.
 
The Jayhawks will take on the two-time defending champions of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), FC Kansas City, which is preparing to open its regular season on April 16. KU and FCKC have met each of the last three springs, all in exhibition play, with the pros coming out on top in each match, 4-0 in 2013, 3-1 in 2014 and 2-0 a year ago.
 
The contest will be the second of the spring season for the Jayhawks, who fell to the Kansas Men’s Club Team, 4-0, in the spring opener three weeks ago in Lawrence.
 
Following its match with the Blues Saturday, Kansas will hit the road for its lone away contest of the spring campaign. The Jayhawks will take on the Tulsa Hurricane on Saturday, April 2. Kick off from Hurricane Soccer Stadium is slated for 1 p.m.
