Kansas Baseball will be hosting its first Rare Disease Game on Saturday, May 11. Kansas plays Houston at 2 p.m. CT and will be wearing special t-shirts during batting practice that features the ‘Kansas’ wordmark in zebra print to help raise awareness for rare diseases.

Senior catcher Lyric Moore was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team, the Big 12 Conference announced Wednesday.

The Kansas Jayhawks (27-24-1, 11-16 Big 12) are set to compete in the 2024 Phillips 66 Big 12 Softball Championship in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, from May 8-11 at OGE Energy Field at Devon Park. The Jayhawks will face off against Houston in the first round on Wednesday, May 8, at 5 p.m. CT.

Junior Lily Hirst posted a 4-under round of 68 at Tumble Creek Club on day one of the NCAA Cle Elum Regional, marking the second-lowest round by a Kansas golfer ever in NCAA Tournament play. The Jayhawks are in sixth place at +6 after an opening round of 294.

Kansas and Omaha’s game scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 at Legends Field in Kansas City, Kansas, has been canceled. Due to the Kansas City Monarchs schedule, Kansas and Omaha will be unable to play as originally scheduled. 

Kansas Athletics presented the student-athletes of the 2024 senior class with their K Rings in a ceremony held at the Kansas Union on Sunday evening. The program featured several awards presentations as well as appearances by a host of former Jayhawk greats to help congratulate the graduating seniors on their outstanding Kansas careers.

In a tightly contested series, Kansas fell 4-2 to Kansas State on Sunday afternoon in the rubber match at Tointon Family Stadium. Kansas had a 2-0 lead after four innings, but the Wildcats scored one run in the fifth, one run in the sixth and two in the seventh to pull ahead and win the game.

Kansas recorded its first shutout of the season as the Jayhawks beat Kansas State 4-0 on Saturday at Tointon Family Field in Manahttan. Kansas starter Dominic Voegele threw six dominant innings, while Cooper Moore, Tegan Cain and Hunter Cranton each threw a scoreless inning of relief.
