Bio

Tyler Bolfing joined the Kansas football staff in January of 2024 an analyst with the Jayhawks’ offense.

Bolfing comes to Kansas after three seasons at Baylor, where he served as a quality control coach for the Bears’ offense. Bolfing served under current Kansas offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes where Baylor won the 2021 Big 12 Conference Championship.

Bolfing joined the Baylor staff in 2021, following two seasons at ULM coaching tight ends and special teams (2019) and quarterbacks (2020). In his first season with the Warhawks, he mentored tight end Josh Pederson to a record-setting season with program records for receptions, yards and touchdowns. Pederson was voted first team All-Sun Belt by the league’s coaches.

Prior to joining the ULM staff, Bolfing coached the tight ends at his alma mater McNeese State in 2018. He previously served as a graduate assistant at ULM from 2016-17, working primarily with the quarterbacks and wide receivers.

A native of Montgomery, Texas, Bolfing played quarterback at McNeese State from 2012-14, before beginning his coaching career as a student assistant. He helped the Cowboys to the 2015 Southland Conference championship and a perfect 10-0 record.

Bolfing holds degrees from McNeese State (2015) and ULM (2017). He is married to the former Lakeyn Fontenot and have a daughter named Brett.
