Softball announces changes to Oklahoma State series

Updated 4/6/2018

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Due to inclement weather, the series finale between Kansas softball and Oklahoma State scheduled for Friday has been postponed to Saturday at 3 p.m., from Arrocha Ballpark at Rock Chalk Park.

Kansas Athletics will recognize KU softball’s Alumni Day on Saturday while all-time great Tracy Bunge’s jersey retirement and ceremonial first pitch will take place before the 3 p.m., start.

If weather postpones Saturday’s contest as well, the series finale between KU and OSU will tentatively be Sunday at 1 p.m., and Bunge’s jersey retirement and Alumni Day will be rescheduled to Sunday, April 29.

Earlier this week, KU’s Big 12 home-opening series was moved up to begin with a doubleheader on Thursday. The Cowgirls won the first two games of the series. Due to the changes in the KU-OSU series, KU’s midweek contest at Wichita State on Wednesday was canceled.

FOR ALUMS
The private alumni reception scheduled for Saturday evening to celebrate 50 years of softball at the University of Kansas will not change. Senior Director of K Club and Traditions Candace Dunback will provide more information directly to alums who have RSVP’d to the event.
