Baseball - Kansas Jayhawks

For a second night in a row, No. 24 Texas defeated Kansas in walk-off fashion, tonight by a score of 3-2. Texas scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to win it.

Ben Hartl hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning, but Texas walked it off in the bottom of the ninth for a 5-4 win at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

Kansas will finish the regular season with a three-game series in Austin at #24 Texas. The Jayhawks have posted a 14-4 record (.778) over the last 18 games since April 9.

Kansas secured a series win on Sunday afternoon at Hoglund Ballpark with a 9-6 win against Houston on Senior Day. The win improved Kansas to 14-4 in its last 18 games.

After trailing 8-1 in the middle of the third inning, Kansas came storming back to beat Houston 11-9 on Saturday afternoon at Hoglund Ballpark. The seven-run deficit is the largest that Kansas has overcome to win since the 2021 season.

On Friday night at Hoglund Ballpark, Houston defeated Kansas 13-5 in the opening game of the series. Freshman Ty Wisdom hit his fourth home run of the season. He has hit three home runs in the last four games.

Kansas will host the Houston Cougars in the final weekend of baseball at Hoglund Ballpark this season. The Jayhawks are riding an eight-game home winning streak, which is the eighth longest in the country.

Kansas Baseball will be hosting its first Rare Disease Game on Saturday, May 11. Kansas plays Houston at 2 p.m. CT and will be wearing special t-shirts during batting practice that features the ‘Kansas’ wordmark in zebra print to help raise awareness for rare diseases.
